Sign post : Reflection of the times

Bangalore Musings is the name of my online blog and this is my maiden attempt at blogging. I sure hope to record and present my perspective as a reflection of the times as a sign post.

So, to start, I begin with this very interesting quote “Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards” by Søren Kierkegaard, a Danish philosopher who lived in the nineteenth century.  The beauty of life is in the fact that it is best lived forwards and we experience the reality and not look at it always as a problem to be solved. It also brings to mind the famous 2005 Stanford commencement speech by Steve Jobs about staying hungry and staying foolish.

As a Marketing practitioner, when I look back at the changes that I have personally experienced, it has been a long albeit exciting journey from MICO Bosch Product Management practices to the current AI fueled Gen AI based marketing techniques of leveraging social media for engaging customers.

I have spent a lot of time in Marketing but it is something that makes me wake up in the morning to learn something new, apply some new concept and try out something new and different. I have lived through some incredible shifts - and from an IT perspective - starting from the Y2K, to the Dot com to the rise of outsourcing / offshoring to today's application of new technologies AI, ML, IoT and AR/VR/XR. It is so true that change is the only constant and one has to keep learning, unlearning and relearn to be relevant and be a part of this fast changing world.

On that note, I wish everyone a happy Deepawali - the festival of lights in India and may your journey be joyous, prosperous, healthy and most importantly be lived every day surmounting all the obstacles and challenges that life throws at you !
